In the darkness of the night, while the landowners are unaware, the intruders become active; they destroy, alter, transfer, and obliterate. Tel Rumeida, the historic site overlooking the Old City, teems with olive trees that are thousands of years old, according to local residents' estimates.

Yet the intruder is not content with stealing artifacts and attributing them to himself, but also burns these trees or uproots them in the late hours of the night. The local residents wake up to find that some of these ancient trees have disappeared or been exterminated. A piece of wood was brought from one of the obliterated trees of Tel Rumeida, as a witness to what happened to its brethren, and a symbol of the time that is fading and heading towards oblivion before its time.
